ROP sets fees for security certificates in Oman

Muscat: His Excellency Lt. Gen. Hassan bin Mohsen Al-Shariqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs, has issued a decision setting fees for fingerprint authentication and introducing two security certificate services.

According to the Royal Oman Police (ROP), the decision sets the fee for fingerprint authentication and introduces a certificate of no criminal conviction for Omani citizens and a certificate of good conduct and behaviour for expatriate residents.

The decision comprises three articles:

Article 1 replaces Item No. 3 of the annex to Decision No. 67/2016, setting the fee for fingerprint authentication (Al Basma Al Oshriya) at OMR 5.

Article 2 adds two new services to the annex as Items No. 6 and 7:

- Item 6: Issuance of a certificate of no criminal conviction for Omani citizens, at a fee of OMR 3.

- Item 7: Issuance of a certificate of good conduct and behaviour for foreigners, at a fee of OMR 20.

The ROP stated that the decision aims to regulate procedures for issuing security certificates and expand the range of modern services provided to citizens and residents.
