Sohar – The proceedings of the first international conference titled "Readings in Juvenile Literature" kicked off today in the Wilayat of Sohar, North Al Batinah Governorate. The two-day conference is organized by Sohar University in partnership with the Oman Society for Writers and Literati.
Dr. Ali bin Salim Al Man’ee, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Conference, said that the event aligns with efforts to spread public awareness about the importance of scholarly research and culture, preserve a national memory, revive heritage and enhance intergenerational integration, in addition to encouraging researchers and innovative talents to extend channels of communication with the community.
“The diverse scopes of the 35 specialized research papers being presented at the conference reflects the interdisciplinary nature of literature featuring the interests of children and young—which in itself constitutes a sphere lying at the intersection of language, literature, education, culture, identity, memory, science and technology”, Dr. Ali said. This provides a broad platform for scholarly dialogue and a spectrum for the exchange of insights and expertise among researchers and specialists, he added.
The conference was held under the auspices of Sheikh Saud bin Mohammed Al Hinai, Wali of Sohar.
