Oman, Tanzania explore economic cooperation

Muscat: The first bilateral consultations meeting between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Republic of Tanzania was held on Monday in Muscat.

The Omani side was headed by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, while the Tanzanian side was headed by Denis Lazaro Londo, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.

During the meeting, existing bilateral relations between the two countries and prospects for cooperation in the fields of investment, commercial exchanges, and logistics were discussed. 

The two sides also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern. The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohammed Ali Al Balushi, Head of the Africa Department at the Foreign Ministry, Maulidah Bwanakheir Hassan, Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to the Sultanate of Oman, and a number of officials from both countries.
