His Majesty the Sultan begins visit to wilayats in Al Wusta and South Al Sharqiyah governorates

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has commenced a field tour across several wilayats in Al Wusta and South Al Sharqiyah governorates as part of Royal efforts to monitor development programs, advance social services, and maximise local economic and tourism potential.

As part of the visit, His Majesty inspected the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD) and the Port of Duqm to review recent infrastructure expansions and receive briefings on future investment strategies.

Upon His Majesty’s arrival at the Port of Duqm, he was received by the Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones, along with a number of officials from the port and companies operating in the zone.

His Majesty issued directives to further leverage the zone’s strategic location, instructing officials to enhance its role as a regional economic and logistics hub while continuing to attract local and foreign capital.

The field visit reflects His Majesty’s keenness to follow up directly on development projects and programmes across the wilayats, assess progress and listen to the views and needs related to enhancing development and services for citizens and residents.
