Muscat: The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) announced four investment opportunities in Sur Industrial City as part of its ongoing efforts to build an integrated and attractive investment environment and drive further investments across industrial, service and logistics sectors, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

Eng. Nasser Hamoud Al Mabsali, Director General of Sur Industrial City, stated that the announced opportunities focus on four key developments: a medical services centre (private hospital), a specialised training centre, a quarry for backfilling materials, and a fully integrated residential complex.

Al Mabsali elaborated that the medical services centre opportunity involves developing, operating and managing an integrated medical facility within Sur Industrial City to provide primary healthcare and supporting medical services to the employees of companies operating in the city and residents of nearby areas. He noted that the land area allocated for this project is flexible, with a 30-year renewable contract.

Moreover, the training centre opportunity involves establishing and operating a specialised facility to support industrial and service activities, enhance workforce capabilities, and provide training programmes that meet the needs of investors and employees within the city and nearby areas. The land area for this opportunity is also flexible, with a 30-year renewable contract.

Al Mabsali pointed out that the third opportunity incorporates preparing, operating and managing a quarry for backfilling materials within Sur Industrial City on an area of 45,000 sqm and under a three-year contract. Additionally, the fourth opportunity involves developing, operating and managing an integrated residential complex to meet the growing demand for accommodation services for the companies operating in the city. The project shall comply with HSE requirements and Oman Energy Association standards. The allocated land covers 182,000 sqm, with a 30-year renewable contract.

Enjoying a strategic location with an 8-km waterfront, Sur Industrial City is home to major industrial projects, including LNG and fertiliser projects, alongside small and medium enterprises operating across various sectors. By the end of the first half of 2026, the cumulative investment volume in Sur Industrial City has reached approximately OMR2.3 billion. The city employs 1,843 workers, including 1,076 Omanis.

Sur Industrial City continues its efforts to develop its infrastructure and enhance the investment environment. The city recently completed the detailed designs for the project of shipbuilding and maintenance facilities, as well as the general and detailed design for the city’s masterplan. Trial operations have also commenced at Sur 1 solar power plant, which aims at further strengthening Sur Industrial City’s role in supporting the growth and development of Oman’s industrial sector.
