Oman plans to replace 110 expatriate trainers with Omanis

MUSCAT: Oman plans to replace 110 expatriate trainers working in vocational colleges with Omani nationals as part of its efforts to strengthen Omanisation in the government sector.

Abdullah Sultan Al Sunaidi, Director of the Recruitment and Omanisation Department in the Government Sector at the Ministry of Labour, said vacancies for the positions will be announced during 2026.

The selection and appointment of Omani candidates are expected to be completed during 2027, with the selected trainers scheduled to begin work at the start of the 2027/2028 academic year.

The initiative is part of the ministry’s approach to linking Omanisation with training and qualification, particularly for specialised positions that require specific skills and practical experience.
