
Manama: The Sultanate of Oman participated in the 29th meeting of the Ministers Responsible for Municipal Affairs in the GCC, held on Thursday in the Bahraini capital, Manama.
The Sultanate of Oman's delegation was headed by Sayyid Faisal bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam.
The meeting discussed a number of topics related to joint Gulf municipal action, including the urban environment, the development of legislation and municipal control mechanisms, and the joint Gulf municipal action plan for the years 2024–2030, alongside reviewing the results of the 6th edition of the GCC Municipal Award, the targets of the 2027 action plan, the Gulf Building Code, joint Gulf municipal events, and agreements with specialised organisations in the municipal field.
The meeting also discussed holding the 4th Gulf Municipal Week, the 13th Municipal Action Conference, and a number of topics of common interest, recommending the submission of guidelines related to the urban environment, strategic urban planning, and the development of legislation and municipal control mechanisms, as well as the mechanism for reviewing approved guidelines.
On the sidelines, Shaikh Khalid Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, received the Governor of Musandam.
