2.3-magnitude earthquake recorded in Dhofar

Muscat: An earthquake was recorded in the Wilayat of Sadah, Dhofar Governorate on Sunday August 23,2026, the Earthquake Monitoring Centre (EMC) at Sultan Qaboos University said.

 A statement issued online by the EMC said: "An earthquake in the Wilayat of Sadah with a magnitude of 2.3 , at 9.57 am MCT and at a depth of 2 km has been recorded. The earthquake was recorded 133 km away from Salalah."
