Skyroot Aerospace announces launch window for maiden Vikram-1 Mission

Hyderabad: Hyderabad-based Skyroot Aerospace has announced that the maiden test flight of its Vikram-1 launch vehicle—the country's first privately developed orbital-class rocket—is scheduled to take place during a launch window between July 12 and August 4.

The historic mission marks a significant milestone for India's private space sector, with Vikram-1 set to become the first privately built Indian rocket designed to place satellites into orbit.

The company said the exact launch date will depend on the successful completion of final assembly and testing activities at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. The lift-off will also be subject to favourable weather conditions, safety assessments, and range clearance.

Once launched, Vikram-1 is expected to demonstrate India's growing capabilities in commercial space transportation and strengthen the role of private companies in the country's rapidly expanding space ecosystem. The mission follows years of development by Skyroot Aerospace and represents a major step forward for India's space industry.
