MUSCAT: The Operations Centre of the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) successfully assisted in saving a 15-year-old girl who suffered an airway obstruction while eating.
According to the CDAA, the centre received an emergency report about the incident and immediately connected with the girl's family.
Specialists provided step-by-step first aid instructions over the phone, while also reassuring family members and encouraging them to remain calm and follow the guidance provided.
The authority said the family's prompt response and adherence to the instructions helped restore the girl's breathing before the situation became more critical.
Officials highlighted the importance of rapid communication with emergency services and following approved first aid procedures during medical emergencies, noting that the swift intervention contributed significantly to the successful outcome.
