Eight new air links boost travel options from Oman this summer

MUSCAT: Travellers planning holidays or business trips this summer will have more options as Oman Air and SalamAir launch four new routes aimed at strengthening connectivity and tapping into growing tourism markets.

The national carrier will begin direct flights from Muscat to Singapore on July 2, followed by services to Sochi in Russia on the same day.

A new Muscat–Tashkent route will commence on July 3, while direct flights between Dubai and Salalah will also start on July 3. “Our network continues to evolve as we identify opportunities to connect Oman with high-potential markets,” a senior Oman Air official said.

Low-cost carrier SalamAir is also expanding its footprint, with new routes to Vienna in June, the Indonesian city of Medan in July and Mogadishu in Somalia from September 3.

In preparation for the launch of its direct service to Tashkent, Oman Air, in partnership with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Oman, hosted “Discover Oman and Uzbekistan: Advancing Bilateral Tourism Relations”, an event aimed at strengthening tourism cooperation and fostering business opportunities between the two countries.

The event was attended by Abdulsalom Khatamov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Oman, along with Hamood Al Alawi, Deputy CEO of Oman Air, government representatives, tourism stakeholders and travel industry professionals. Oman Air’s Muscat–Tashkent service will operate twice weekly from July 3, 2026.

The airline’s new routes to Singapore, Sochi and the Dubai–Salalah sector are also expected to enhance tourism and business travel opportunities across the network.
