
Minsk: A delegation from the Sultanate of Oman viewed the experience of the Republic of Belarus in the fields of food security, industry, and technology.
This comes within the context of the delegation’s official visit to Belarus to take part in the Belarussian agro industrial week “BELAGRO” 2026, which commences on Tuesday in Minsk.
Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, accompanied by Ambassador Hamoud Salim Al Tuwaih, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Russian Federation and non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of Belarus, paid a visit to Slutsk Cheese Factory in Minsk.
The minister and the accompanying delegation were briefed on the latest technologies used in dairy product manufacturing and the various stages of production.
They also listened to a presentation on the factory’s capabilities and its advanced expertise in this sector, as well as its role in the development of the food industry and dairy products.
Meanwhile, a delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, along with Oman Food Investment Holding Company and the Omani European Food Industries Company, visited Bellakt Company in the city of Valkavysk in the Grodno Region of the Republic of Belarus.
During the visit, the delegation toured the production lines for baby food and dairy products and listened to a presentation on the latest technologies used in manufacturing processes, as well as the quality and food safety systems implemented at the company.
The two sides discussed opportunities for joint cooperation and the exchange of expertise in the fields of food industries and dairy products.
They also explored prospects for developing investment and commercial partnerships to contribute to strengthening the food security system and supporting economic relations between the two countries.
In his turn, Faisal Abdullah Al Rowas, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the accompanying trade delegation visited the Belarus-China joint industrial park, which offers numerous advantages, including duty-free access to the Eurasian market. The park also provides ready-made industrial facilities available for rent or purchase.
The delegation got acquainted with Belarus’s experience in manufacturing, the technology employed, the key industries located in the park, and the incentives and services offered by the industrial park to companies wishing to establish factories there.
During the visit, the two sides discussed means of benefiting from Belarus’s expertise in manufacturing and attracting Belarusian companies to open factories in the Sultanate of Oman.
The trade delegation also visited the Hi-Tech Park in the Republic of Belarus, which is considered one of the most prominent information technology and innovation clusters in Central and Eastern Europe. The park is designed to support technology and innovation companies by providing an environment for establishing and developing technology businesses.
During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the most prominent advanced technical services and systems offered by the park, as well as the integrated work environment that includes technology incubators and accelerators.
The visit aimed to benefit from this experience and transfer knowledge and technology to the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to exploring the possibility of attracting companies operating within the park to invest in the Omani market.
These visits come within the framework of strengthening relations of cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Belarus, exchanging expertise, and learning about successful experiences in the agricultural, food, industrial, and technological fields in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two countries.
