Muscat: During the Oman Sustainability Week 2026 in Muscat, one of the region’s leading platforms dedicated to sustainability, energy innovation and future infrastructure, a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) was officially signed in Muscat for the development of a next-generation Green Data Centre in Oman.

The agreement brought together five major international companies: RINA, Vitali, Forte Secur Group, Dream Group and Corpolgia, in a strategic collaboration aimed at developing an advanced and sustainable digital infrastructure fully aligned with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

The signing ceremony, held under the patronage of the Embassy of Italy accredited to the Sultanate of Oman, took place in the presence of representatives from all participating companies, government officials, business leaders and stakeholders attending Oman Sustainability Week 2026.

The project aims to establish a new-generation data center infrastructure integrating technological innovation, cybersecurity, energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions, further positioning Oman as a regional hub for the digital economy, artificial intelligence and advanced digital services.

The initiative also reflects the growing economic and industrial cooperation between the Republic of Italy, Oman and the United Arab Emirates, opening new opportunities for future investments, knowledge transfer and long-term strategic partnerships.

The operation was coordinated and supported by the Italian Trade Agency Office in Muscat (ITA/ICE), in close collaboration with the Commercial Office of the Embassy of Italy in Muscat.

Speaking on the occasion, Qais Al Bahri, Chief Executive Officer of Dream Group, stated: “This agreement represents an important milestone in our commitment to supporting Oman’s digital transformation and sustainability ambitions.

“Through this partnership, we aim to contribute to the development of a future-ready technological infrastructure that combines innovation, security and environmental responsibility, while creating long-term value for the Sultanate of Oman and the wider region.”

In a joint statement, the Italian companies RINA, Vitali and Forte Secur Group highlighted the strategic significance of the agreement and the importance of international cooperation in advancing sustainable infrastructure projects, “The signing of this Joint Development Agreement reflects the strong synergy between Italian expertise and Omani ambitions for sustainable growth and technological advancement.

By combining our respective capabilities in engineering, infrastructure, security and innovation, we are laying the foundation for a next-generation digital ecosystem capable of supporting the future needs of the region.”

Pierluigi D’Elia, Ambassador of Italy accredited to the Sultanate of Oman also welcomed the agreement: “This agreement is a concrete example of the deepening partnership between Italy and Oman across strategic sectors including technology, sustainability, infrastructure and innovation.

“It reflects the shared vision of both countries to promote sustainable economic growth and foster high-value cooperation capable of generating long-term benefits for future generations and for our businesses.”

The signing of the JDA comes within the broader framework of strengthening bilateral relations between the Republic of Italy and the Sultanate of Oman, further reinforced by the recent official visit of the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, to the Sultanate of Oman, which contributed to accelerating new opportunities for cooperation in strategic sectors such as energy, infrastructure, technology and sustainable investments.

The agreement represents an important first step toward the development of future operational and industrial partnerships, with the objective of creating a high-value technological ecosystem for the Sultanate of Oman and the wider region.
