Oman, Türkiye hold political talks session to enhance bilateral cooperation

Ankara: The foreign ministries of the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Türkiye hold a session of political talks in the Turkish capital, Ankara.

The Omani side was headed by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, while the Turkish side was headed by Musa Kulaklıkaya, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

During the session, both sides discussed ways to develop bilateral cooperation in the political, diplomatic, economic, and cultural fields. They also discussed the establishment of the Omani-Turkish Coordination Council to elevate the level of coordination and consultation between the two countries and to strengthen partnerships in the commercial, economic, investment, health, and tourism sectors in a manner that achieves mutual interests and supports development paths in both nations.

Furthermore, the two sides addressed the situation in the region and regional and international issues of common concern. They emphasised the importance of de-escalation and working through dialogue and diplomacy to resolve crises and enhance regional and international stability.

The session was attended by Munther Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Head of the Europe Department at the Foreign Ministry; Saif Rashid Al Jahwari, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Türkiye; and several officials from both sides.
