MoE issues statement on school day program

Muscat: The school day program will not be shortened during the remainder of the academic year and will continue as usual without any modifications, The Ministry of Education (MoE) said.

The Ministry's response was in reference to demands circulating on some social media platforms for reducing the length of the school day for the remainder of the academic year. The response  confirmed that the approved school day program will continue without any modifications, as stipulated in Ministerial Decision No. (2025103) concerning the annual school calendar for the 2025/2026 academic year.

"The Ministry also emphasises the necessity of full adherence to the prescribed school day duration to ensure the smooth operation of the educational process and the achievement of its objectives, in accordance with the approved timetable in the aforementioned academic calendar," the statement said.

"The Ministry calls upon everyone to cooperate and work together to support student attendance and promote adherence to learning time. It affirms that adherence to the school day duration is a fundamental pillar for the success of the educational process."
