Wadi Bani Khalid: The completion rate of the mountain road in Wadi Bani Khalid in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate has reached 74 percent. The project spans 9 kilometers and is being executed at a cost exceeding OMR13 million.
The road, being executed by the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, starts in the Manakh area, near Wadi Bani Khalid Police Station, and concludes at the village of Muzayri in the center of the wilayat.
The actual completion rate exceeds the planned target by over 20 percent, with the road expected to open to traffic in the third quarter of 2026. The road serves as an alternative route for the Wilayat of Wadi Bani Khalid in North A’Sharqiyah Governorate and stands as one of the most prominent development projects implemented by the Ministry in the wilayat.
It is designed to function as a vital route that enhances logistical movement from an economic perspective, while also facilitating user mobility between villages within the wilayat—including residents, school buses, and other routine travel. Additionally, it strengthens connectivity among villages, reinforcing social bonds and daily commutes in line with ongoing service development in the wilayat.
The road comprises two lanes, each 3.5 meters wide, with asphalt shoulders extending 1.5 meters on each side. The project also includes box culverts and water drainage channels to ensure road safety during rainfall.
