Khasab: The Municipal Council of Musandam Governorate held its 3rd meeting of 2026 on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Ahmed Mohammed Al Kumzari, Deputy Chairman of the Council.
The meeting addressed the repercussions of the last weather condition “Al Masarrat” and its effects on the governorate’s wilayats, along with several service and development topics listed on the agenda.
The meeting discussed the implications of the weather condition experienced by the governorate’s wilayats, reviewing the most prominent impacts and the accompanying field challenges that required concerted official and community efforts. It also examined the efforts of the sub-committee for emergency cases and the measures taken to manage the situation.
The Council reviewed several items on the agenda, including a proposal to allocate a site for an Olympic shooting club, the creation of investment plots in the Sima (Ras Aqab) layout, a proposal to approve a maritime transport service for coastal villages in the Wilayat of Khasab, and a proposal for the development of the Al Sha’biyah area in the Wilayat of Khasab.
Additionally, the Council discussed proposed development requirements in the Wilayat of Bukha, which include the construction of a rainwater drainage canal from the industrial area to the sea, the implementation of protection measures against mountain rockfalls, and the maintenance of internal roads in the wilayat.
Furthermore, the Council addressed requirements for the Wilayat of Madha, which included developing the Madha waterfall, constructing a children’s playground in the Al Shariyah area, developing the waterway north of Madha Hospital, and finding appropriate solutions for the Sahna dam spillway issue.
This was in addition to a proposal to excavate rainwater drainage canals in cooperation with public and private sector companies in the governorate.
