Abu Dhabi: UAE air defences successfully intercepted an Iranian ballistic missile, but the debris struck vehicles on Sweihan Street in Abu Dhabi, killing two unidentified people and wounding three.
This is the first such fatalities in the UAE in over a week amid a regional war that began February 28, 2026, following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran.
The UAE has now intercepted 357 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,815 drones from Iran, with 11 total deaths from related debris. Gulf neighbors condemned the attacks and reaffirmed their self-defense rights.
