Thai vessel attacked off Oman's coast

Muscat – The Maritime Security Center has reported that the commercial vessel MAYUREE NAREE, registered under the Kingdom of Thailand, came under attack approximately 13 nautical miles off Oman's coastline. The assault caused a fire in the vessel's main engine room.

In a swift response, a ship from the Royal Navy of Oman evacuated all 20 crew members, who are of Thai nationality. The crew sustained injuries of varying severity and have been transferred to safety for medical attention.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation and coordinate with relevant international maritime agencies.
