Khasab: The Municipal Council of Musandam Governorate on Tuesday held its second meeting of the year during which it discussed proposals aimed at improving services and enhancing activities in the field of economy, tourism and housing in the governorate of Musandam.
The meeting discussed a proposal to expand Mahas Industrial City (Madayn) in the Wilayat of Khasab. The project will contribute to supporting investment, promoting economic activity and generating employment opportunities for the people of the governorate.
The meeting also discussed a request to expand the residential plan in the Wilayat of Khasab to keep pace with ongoing urban expansion and meet the housing needs of citizens.
In addition, the meeting looked into proposals to enhance the level of services and infrastructure in the Wilayat of Dibba.
Municipal Council also studied proposals to develop commercial areas in the Wilayat of Khasab and a proposal to introduce street lighting in Al Nakhl area in the Wilayat of Madha, besides developing investment in the field tourism by establishing kiosks in a manner that enhances the attractiveness of natural sites, supports the local tourism sector and provides new business opportunities for the local community.
The Municipal Council expressed its keenness to work in coordination with the authorities concerned to achieve sustainable development in the Governorate of Musandam in line with the government’s vision to upgrade the quality of life and maximize gains from economic and tourism assets that abound in the Governorate.
