
Muscat: A tragic accident in the waters has claimed the lives of three people after a boat carrying 25 French tourists overturned in the Wilayat of Muttrah, Muscat Governorate. Rescue and ambulance teams from the Civil Defence and Ambulance Unit in Muscat Governorate responded to the emergency report.
The accident also resulted in minor injuries to two others who were treated by ambulance teams on site.
Preliminary reports indicate that the vessel was carrying a group of 25 French nationals when it overturned.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. The Royal Oman Police (ROP) and maritime authorities have launched a formal investigation to determine the circumstances leading up to the accident.
Efforts are currently underway to provide support to the survivors and the families of the deceased.
