Oman sets official fees for rental dispute requests

Muscat: The Ministry of Interior has issued Ministerial Decision No. 124/2025, establishing official fees for requests submitted to rental dispute resolution committees across the Sultanate.

The decision, published in the Official Gazette, is based on Royal Decree No. 6/89 concerning the regulation of relationships between property owners and tenants of residential, commercial, and industrial premises, as well as the registration of related lease contracts. It also reflects the approval of the Council of Ministers and aims to serve the public interest.

Under Article One of the decision, fees for requests submitted to the committees will be applied according to the attached schedule. The fee structure includes:

- Non-financial requests: OMR 10 per submission.

- Financial requests up to OMR 50,000: OMR 10.

- Financial requests from OMR 50,001 to 100,000: OMR 50 rials.

- Financial requests from OMR 100,001 to 500,000: OMR 200.

- Financial requests exceeding OMR 500,000: OMR 500.

- Requests involving multiple claims in a single dispute: Combined and assessed based on total value, with a fee of OMR 50.

- Requests for interpretation of decisions: OMR10.

- Reopening closed requests: OMR 10.

The regulation was issued on December 30, 2025, and officially published in Gazette Issue No. 1369 on January 4, 2026. It will take effect the day following its publication.
