Muscat: In a significant milestone that reinforces the Sultanate of Oman’s position as a promising industrial hub in the bus and vehicle manufacturing sector, a strategic partnership agreement was signed between Oman-based Karwa Motors and Mercedes-Benz (Daimler Trucks Middle East and Africa) during the 2025 Busworld Exhibition held in Brussels, Belgium.
The agreement aims to expand regional and global capabilities in bus manufacturing by officially certifying Karwa Motors as a _Certified Builder_ of Mercedes-Benz buses.
Under the terms of the agreement, Karwa Motors will manufacture Mercedes-Benz buses for the Omani market as well as regional and international markets. This will take place within an integrated framework of technical and commercial cooperation designed to strengthen manufacturing capabilities across the region.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Ibrahim Al Balooshi, CEO of Karwa Motors and Mr. Michael Dietz, President and CEO of Daimler Trucks Middle East and Africa
Also present at the signing ceremony was Mr. Marcus Watts, Vice President of Mercedes-Benz Buses, who stated:“This agreement marks a historic milestone in the collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and Karwa Motors. It lays the foundation for a strong partnership that contributes to building a world-class manufacturing ecosystem from Oman to international markets.”
