Oman, Kuwait explore opportunities to enhance cooperation

MuscatHis Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait, held a fraternal meeting at Al Barakah Palace on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the two leaders explored opportunities to enhance partnership and investment between the two countries across various sectors, in line with the aspirations of the Omani and Kuwaiti peoples.

The two leaders also discussed a number of shared topics and issues, emphasising the importance of opening new avenues for economic, commercial, and investment cooperation.

The meeting was attended from the Omani side by HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs; HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth; Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, Dr. Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office, Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority and Eng. Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals.

The meeting was attended from the Kuwaiti side by Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Minister of Defence; Sheikh Dr. Meshal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Director General of Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA); retired Lieutenant General Jamal Mohammed Al-Theyab, Director of the Amir’s Office, Sheikh Nawaf Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah, Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation(KPC), Sheikh Saud Salim Abdulaziz Al-Sabah, Managing Director of the Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA) and Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al Hajiri, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Sultanate of Oman.
