Discussion on risk management at the Royal Academy of Management

Muscat: The National Risk Register convened the fourth meeting of its sector’s heads at the Royal Academy of Management (RAM) in Muscat on Monday.

The meeting reviewed several topics, including examining the short, medium, and long-term outcomes of the National Risk Register within the framework of its tasks related to enhancing readiness and preparedness, building national capacities, and formulating policies to achieve the objectives of national risk management, mitigating its effects, and leveraging it as a tool for planning national projects to ensure optimal resource allocation, enhance resilience, and ensure business sustainability, as well as identifying gaps. The meeting also discussed methodologies for deriving opportunities from the risks in the register and mechanisms to contribute to spreading a culture of risk management at various community levels, particularly those resulting from natural emergency situations.

It is worth noting that the National Risk Register works to provide a forward-looking and future-oriented picture based on a rigorous methodology for risks in a number of fields to enhance Oman’s capabilities in resilience, impact mitigation, and recovery.

The meeting was attended by Their Excellencies, sector heads, and a number of senior officers from military and security agencies concerned with national risk management.
