Rampant Barcelona put six past Valencia

Barcelona: Barcelona delivered a devastating attacking display to thrash Valencia 6-0, with on-loan Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford contributing his first La Liga assist in a dominant victory for the Spanish champions. Fermín López, Raphinha, and Robert Lewandowski each scored twice in a relentless performance.

López opened the scoring after running onto a through ball from Ferran Torres, then doubled the lead with a spectacular long-range strike. Raphinha, introduced at halftime, made an immediate impact by finishing a brilliant left-wing cross from Rashford—marking the English forward's first direct goal contribution in the league since joining on loan. Rashford, making his second start for the club, produced a lively 67-minute display and recorded two further attempts.

Raphinha added a fourth with a powerful driven finish before Lewandowski came off the bench to complete the rout. The Polish striker first converted a composed finish from a Dani Olmo pass, then delicately chipped in a sixth—a goal initially disallowed for offside but awarded following a VAR review. Barcelona could have added even more, with Torres striking the post after connecting with a flicked-on Rashford cross.

The match was held at the 6,000-capacity Johan Cruyff Stadium, Barcelona’s temporary home as the redeveloped Nou Camp is not yet ready for use.
