Gulf region's largest mural unveiled in Musandam

Muscat: A massive mural, the largest of its kind in the Sultanate of Oman and among the most prominent murals in the Gulf region, was unveiled in Musandam Governorate on a prominent mountain face at the governorate's entrance.

The mural, featuring contemporary graffiti art, reflects the spirit of the place and its unique maritime identity, combining art with the local environment. The mural was created under the patronage of His Excellency Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam.

The mural, created by Omani artist Abdulaziz Al Shehhi, stretches 70 meters in length and 14 meters in height. It took 40 consecutive days, averaging three hours per day, to complete, using more than 500 paint cans.

The mural depicts vibrant scenes of the marine life for which Musandam Governorate is famous, including diving, dolphins, coral reefs, and various marine activities, transforming it into an artistic and tourist landmark that attracts visitors and residents alike.

His Excellency Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam, said: "We are proud of this artwork, which reflects the beauty of the marine environment in Musandam Governorate and contributes to strengthening the governorate's visual identity. We encourage such initiatives that utilize art to serve tourism and open the way for creativity and excellence for the governorate's people."
