Muscat: Fortis Healthcare Limited under the banner of Fortis Cancer Institute, in collaboration with Oman Cancer Association and Global treatment services with the accreditation of Oman Medical and Specialty Board successfully hosted an International Accredited Symposium on Advances in Oncology – A Multidisciplinary Approach on 8 February 2025 in Crowne Plaza Hotel, Muscat, Oman.
This one-of-its-kind large scale conference aimed at fostering collaboration and innovation in the fight against cancer bringing together leading oncologists, researchers, and healthcare professionals to discuss groundbreaking advancements in cancer treatment and care.
The occasion was attended by chief guest Her Royal Highness Sayyida Dr. Mona Al Said. Dignitaries from Ministry of Health and Ministry of Defense were also present to resonate Oman’s commitment to fight against cancer.

The Conference was led by Dr Vinod Raina who is known to have had two-decade long association with Oman Healthcare as he was sent by Government of India to Oman in the year 2001 to establish the Department of Oncology in Royal Hospital, Muscat, Oman.
Participation fromOncologists from Royal Hospital, Sultan Qaboos Cancer Centre, Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, Khawla Hospital, Army Hospital and private hospitals signified Oman’s commitment to enhancing cancer research and treatment infrastructure, in line with the country’s healthcare goals.
The keynote addresses from these renowned experts, panel discussions on emerging trends, and presentations on cutting-edge research in oncology highlighted the emergence of precision medicine, immunotherapy, early detection strategies, and the latest advancements in personalized cancer treatments.
This conference provided a crucial platform for knowledge exchange, enabling healthcare professionals to stay updated with the latest developments in oncology. By bringing together global experts, we strive to improve cancer care and patient outcomes in Oman and beyond.

The conference was well attended by more than 300 participants making it the biggest event in the field of healthcare in Oman. It concluded with a resounding commitment to advancing cancer research and patient care.
