Madrid: Represented by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, the Sultanate of Omanis is taking part in the International Tourism Exhibition "FITUR 2025", which began in Madrid on Wednesday and will continue until 26 January 2025, with the participation of 156 countries from around the world.
This year’s FITUR exhibition focuses on global tourism trends, the latest technological developments and innovation in the tourism industry. It offers an ideal opportunity to promote the tourism assets that distinguish the Sultanate of Oman and enhance cooperation with international partners in this field.
The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation to the exhibition is headed by Salim Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism.
Al Mahrouqi said that Oman’s participation assumes significance as an opportunity to highlight the country’s distinctive tourist destination and allow meeting with international tourism companies.
He added in a press statement that steps are underway to appoint a Tourism Representation Office for the Sultanate of Oman in the Kingdom of Spain with the aim of augmenting tourism flow from the Spanish market, thus opening up new vistas for global tourism growth.
On the sidelines of its participation in the event, Oman organised a promotional campaign that included the installation of data panels about tourism and heritage sites in the country. The data is also propagated in the exposition’s halls, on buses and in tourist attractions in Madrid.
FITUR exhibition also saw the launch of a digital campaign undertaken by the national travel operator and Destinia (a digital travel agency) to promote Omani tourism products.
The Sultanate of Oman's pavilion in the exhibition comprises 9 tourism institutions, companies and hotel facilities.
