Latest innovations in artificial lift discussed

Muscat: More than 400 specialists from 30 countries and 106 international organisations are taking part in the 10th Middle East Artificial Lift Forum (MEALF), being held in Muscat (20-22 January 2025).

The event elaborates on the use of artificial lift techniques to upgrade oil-well productivity, as well as the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in data analysis towards improving operational efficiency.

The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Mohsin Hamad Al Hadhrami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals.

Al Hadhrami said that the forum constitutes a technical platform that brings together international experts and specialists who exchange the latest innovations in the field of artificial lift—a key instrument in improving the efficiency of oilfield production and longevity.

The forum discusses more than 50 working papers on vital operations, including monitoring greenhouse gas emissions, enhancing the sustainability of artificial lift systems and exploring the role of modern technology in improving production efficiency and developing mature oil and gas fields.

The forum addresses all personnel operating in the oil and gas sector, including professionals and amateurs, in addition to students of Omani colleges—with the prime aim of developing local competencies.

An exhibition is held on the sidelines of the forum to showcase the products of major international companies and the latest innovations and technical solutions that contribute to developing the oil and gas sector.
