Sayyid Theyazin to patronise 10th Gulf Sports Tournament

Muscat: Sultan Qaboos University is set to host the 10th Gulf Sports Tournament for students of universities and higher education institutions from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries starting from Sunday. The event will be held at the university's cultural centre and will run until January 24.

The tournament to be organised, under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports, and Youth, aims to strengthen fraternal ties between students of GCC universities and higher education institutions and foster sports and cultural cooperation.

Participants will compete in various sports, including athletics, swimming, football, basketball (3×3), volleyball, badminton, and table tennis. Competitions will be held at various sports facilities, including the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, Seeb Sports Stadium, and the Military Technical College.

The tournament provides a valuable opportunity to develop sports talents and enhance academic and athletic cooperation among universities and higher education institutions in the GCC.
