Muscat: The Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence Committee at Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) held its 4th meeting of 2024 in Muscat on Tuesday.
Headed by Eng. Ibrahim Abdullah Al Hosni, Chairman of the Committee, the meeting discussed the Sultanate of Oman’s participation in the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Shanghai, one of the largest global telecommunications industry events. The committee also discussed a number of initiatives for the empowerment of digital economy in Oman.
The initiatives undertaken by the committee include a project to modernize economic activities through the introduction of digital economy and artificial intelligence in a manner that enhances productivity and services and attracts foreign investment, said Al Hosni
He added that the meeting valued the efforts made by Oman Future Fund to support the system of venture capital investment and related funds, as well as the “Shuaa” platform, which provides access to the outcomes of research in Oman.
