Kuwait: An Omani delegation led by Dr. Nasser Rashid Al Maawali, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy visited the State of Kuwait today. The delegation met with Ahmed bin Ja’ed Al Anzi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development in the State of Kuwait. The two sides explored areas of cooperation and exchange of expertise in the fields of development planning and economic policy-making.
The delegation was briefed about the experience of the specialized centres at the Secretariat General of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development.
The meeting touched on cooperation in the fields of capacity building and training on drawing up and framing public policies, among other areas.
The two sides also discussed practices on drawing out future visions and conducting joint research in key development areas.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Saleh Amer Al Kharousi, the Sultanate of Oman’s Ambassador to the State of Kuwait.
The delegation also visited the Arab Planning Institute where it discussed cooperation between the Ministry of Economy and the Institute in the fields of planning and development research.
The Arab Planning Institute is a regional organization that boasts extensive experience in the fields of training and administrative development. It is a house of expertise in the field of development research. The delegation was briefed about the Institute’s strategic approaches and future action. The briefing covered means of enhancing partnership with the Sultanate of Oman, notably in the areas of training on a variety of economic specializations.
