Foreign Minister meets Iraqi official

Baghdad: Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, met here today with Mahmoud Al Mashhadani, Speaker of Iraq's Council of Representatives. The meeting comes as part of the Foreign Minister’s official visit to the Republic of Iraq.

The meeting reviewed the depth of fraternal relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Iraq, as well as ways of strengthening parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides stressed the importance of continuous communication among legislative institutions in supporting common causes in a bid to achieve stability and sustainable development in the region.

The meeting affirmed the historical ties between the two peoples. It also underscored the commitment of both sides with mutual action to serve bilateral interests.
