Muscat: The Oman Business Forum at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion will organise the fifth session of Business Dialogues on Tuesday.
The event entitled “Exploring the Final Frontier: An Entrepreneur’s Guide to the Space Industry” at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center, will review the rapid developments in the space industry and its impact on daily life.
Maimouna bint Sulaiman Al Adawiya, Director of the Oman Business Forum and Partnership with the Private Sector Office at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, explained that the session will discuss many topics related to the support of space technology for daily life and the major changes that occur with the entry of private companies into this field and the role of satellites in addressing global challenges, starting from monitoring climate change to supporting disaster relief efforts.
She pointed out that the global space economy is witnessing rapid growth, reshaping industries and changing the world in ways that many may not realise.
She said that the size of the space economy will reach $1.8 trillion US dollars by 2035.
The session will be organised for highlighting the economic opportunities available in the field of space industries and the possibility of emerging companies and institutions benefiting from space innovations such as satellites and communications technology to achieve further development, and raising awareness about the growing role of private companies in the space sector and the challenges it faces such as orbital congestion and the importance of global cooperation to regulate this field and ensure its sustainability.
