Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman welcomes the call made by His Excellency President Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, to stop the delivery of weapons to the Israeli occupation amid conflict in the Gaza Strip, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Sultanate considers this an important step within the framework of international efforts aimed at stopping the escalating war and protecting innocent civilians from the scourge of conflict.
Oman stressed the importance of the international community taking firm positions to stop the violence and military escalation in the region, and calls for adherence to international and humanitarian law, including stopping all forms of military support that fuel the conflict and prolong human suffering.
The Sultanate calls on all parties to return to the dialogue table and commit to a just and comprehensive political solution that guarantees the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, most notably the establishment of their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.
