Muscat: Extra, extra, wherefore art thou, extra?
The Royal Opera House in Muscat is looking to cast ‘Extras’ for one of its upcoming Opéra de Monte-Carlo’s production of ‘Roméo et Juliette’in September.
“Eight men and two women are required to play extras,” the Opera House said in a statement.
According to the statement, eight men will play peasants, guards, valets and court gentlemen. They should be between 18 and 40 years old and height should be between 1m 70 – 1m 86. The shoe sizes will be between 40 and 46 (European size).
Two women between 18 and 40 years old are required to play peasants and court ladies. Their height range should be between 1m 60 and 1m 70 and their shoe sizes should be between 36 and 40 (European size).
The applicants should be available for all scheduled costume fittings, rehearsals and performances as follows.
September 22, from 16.00 till 17.00 for orientation session, September 24 from 09.30 till 13.00 for costume fittings and studio rehearsal and from 14.00 till 19.30 for stage rehearsal.
On September 25 from 09.30 till 13.00 for studio rehearsal and from 14.00 till 19.30 for stage rehearsal.
On September 26, from 14.00 till 19.00 for stage rehearsal and on September 28 again from 14.00 till 19.00 for stage rehearsal.
And on September 29 at 19.00, extras should be present for performance.
“Extras need to get into costume at 18:00,” the statement added.
Again on September 30, at 19.00 they should be available for performance and they need to get into costume at 18.00.
Finally on October 1, they should be ready by 19:00 for performance and need to get into costume at 18.00.
Those who would like to take part in this production have to send one full length photograph, one headshot photograph plus a short cell-phone video to introduce themselves (full length shot, not head shot) to [email protected] with a covering e-mail telling a little about themselves (including name, age, height, clothing size, shoe size and contact telephone number), previous acting experience and why they would like to be involved.
