Tourism ministry launches promotional campaign 'Change the Atmosphere'

Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MoHT) launched its promotional campaign for heritage and tourism assets during the summer season under the theme ‘Change the Atmosphere.’

The campaign will continue until the end of August in collaboration with the national travel operator (Visit Oman) and the Omran Group.

The campaign, which was launched through the MoHT’s accounts on social media ‘Experience Oman,’ aims to stimulate local tourism during the summer season, introduce heritage and tourist sites, and enhance tourism activity throughout the year, benefiting tourism sector partners.

The campaign also promotes indoor places such as museums, shopping centres, and entertainment venues, as well as areas with moderate temperatures like Jebel Shams, Jebel Akhdar, the beaches of Ash Sharqiyah South Governorate, and Al Wusta Governorate.

Additionally, it highlights marine activities and experiences available in moderate temperature areas, and offers travel companies' packages for marine trips, adventure tours, accommodation deals, and entertainment centre promotions, among others.

Haitham bin Mohammed Al Ghassani, Director General of Tourism Promotion at the MoHT, emphasised that the slogan of the ‘Change the Atmosphere’ campaign goes beyond merely attracting visitors. It is based on the tourism planning that aligns with the aspirations of tourists and visitors, aiming to enhance the tourist routes and transform them into enjoyable and enriching experiences.

This is facilitated through the campaign's dedicated website, www.livethevibe.om, which offers services and options for direct bookings. This makes it easier for visitors from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman to arrange their travel itineraries perfectly with just one click.

He further added that the users of the website can explore opportunities, offers, and make bookings according to the tourist destinations they wish to visit in the Sultanate of Oman.

This provides them with the opportunity to choose from a wide range of carefully curated tourist packages that cater to all travel styles and preferences.

Shabib bin Mohammed Al Maamari, managing director of Visit Oman, stated: “The platform connects local companies operating in various fields of travel, tourism, and hospitality with international markets, digitally distributing products to specialised companies in the travel sector.

He highlighted that the Visit Oman digital booking platform provides a comprehensive travel marketplace, allowing visitors to explore and book offers from over 100 partners and 80 hotels, as well as offering more than 100 tours across all governorates.”

Al Maamari affirmed that this diversity in options reflects the breadth and vitality of tourism products, necessitating easy and efficient access and provision through an integrated digital platform. He emphasised Visit Oman's commitment to continuing to empower small and medium-sized enterprises by digitally distributing and selling their products.

Mohammed Al-Ghafaili, Chief Operations Officer at Omran Group, stated: “We at Omran Group are pleased to collaborate with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and the national travel operator (Visit Oman) to launch the 'Change the Atmosphere' campaign. This campaign embodies our continuous commitment to supporting efforts to develop the tourism sector in the Sultanate of Oman."

Al Ghafili added that the campaign serves as a significant platform to showcase the richness and diversity of tourism in the Sultanate of Oman to visitors and tourists. This encourages them to seek unforgettable tourism experiences by exploring natural sites, engaging in various adventures and experiences, and delving into heritage and historical locations.
