Omani students excel in Malaysian event

Muscat: The Ministry of Education, represented by the Department of Innovation and Scientific Olympiads, concluded its participation in the International Exhibition of Invention, Innovation and Technology in its 35th edition, which was held in the city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The Ministry was represented in this international participation by three female students from the Dohat Al Adab School for Basic Education in the Muscat Governorate and from Sawda Umm Al-Mu’minin School for Basic Education in ADhahirah Governorate.

In this international participation, the Ministry of Education won a number of advanced awards, as the Dohat Al Adab School team from Muscat Governorate, represented by the student Fay bint Salem Al Mahrouqi, won first place and a gold medal in the field of information technology for innovating the use of a hybrid artificial technology to detect liver cirrhosis.

The team also received a group of special awards, which are: a special award from the Center for Invention and Innovation in Indonesia, a special award from the Innovation Centre in Singapore, and a special award from the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a special award from the Research and Development Council for Innovation in Qatar.

The team of Souda Umm al-Mu’minin Basic Education School from ADhahirah Governorate, represented by the two students Al-Ghalabint Salim Al- Yaqoubi and Zainab bint Humaid Al-Muqbali, won second place, and a silver medal in the field of science and environment for inventing green chemistry for manufacture nano-iron, and the team also received a special award from Al-Tuwaiq Academy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
