Australian ship returns home, tributes to sailor who died in Oman

Sydney: A sailor who was found dead on shore leave in Muscat has been named by the Australian navy.
Tears of joy and woe were witnessed on every face among the crowds of people who had come to receive the nation’s nautical heroes, as HMAS Darwin docked in Sydney on the morning of July 17 after completing their tasks at in the Middle East shores.
Among the happy faces on the return of the 229 sailors there was also sadness for leading seaman Cameron Acreman, 27, who will never return.
Acreman died last month while leaving the shores of Muscat, Oman when he was found unconscious and despite being given medical treatment did not recover. He was remembered as a ‘Champion.’ The sailors were welcomed as heroes after seizing hauls of weapons and drugs, while supporting counter-terrorism operations.
