Travelling to Germany from Oman with children? Make sure they sign their passports

Muscat: Entry into Germany will be denied to Omani passengers, including children aged 10 and above, if their passports are not signed, the national carrier of Oman, Oman Air said on Wednesday.
When contacted, a senior official said this directive was being issued after some passengers were denied entry into Germany.
When contacted, a senior official at the German Embassy in Muscat, stressed that it is always better to have your passport signed. “For smaller children, finger prints would be accepted when they are travelling,” the official explained.
Travel agents said the announcement had been made to avoid any type of problems for tourists while crossing to some other country from Germany. “Some countries insist that all tourists aged above 10 should sign their passports. So Oman Air has started advising the same to its passengers as a lot of countries are making it mandatory that a child aged 10 or above should sign his/her own passport,” a travel agent noted.
