CAA issues alert for heavy thundershowers expected in these parts of Oman

Muscat: Civil Aviation Authority has issued weather alert No3 for heavy thundershowers expected on Tuesday in parts of the Sultanate of Oman.

CAA said: “Heavy thundershowers expected over the governorate of Al Wusta which may range between 20 mm to 50 mm. While isolated thundershowers will continue over parts of Dhofar governorate and Al Hajar Mountains and adjoining areas.”

Expected Impacts:

1. Wadis flow over some areas and thundershowers are occasionally associated with fresh downdraft winds.

2. Reduction in horizontal visibility during thundershowers.

The Civil Aviation Authority advises all to take precautions during thundershowers rain, and not to cross Wadis and avoid low lying areas and not to sail during the alert period.
