Muscat: The CBSE Swimming Clusters, one of the most-awaited events, was finally held at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, Muscat, Oman recently after a two-year break.
All the Indian schools across Oman registered their students to participate in the meet. The stakes were high as the winners of the meet are heading to India to participate in the competition in Rajkot this month. They will be representing the Indian team from Oman.
The event saw some strong competitors who are currently being trained by the Nautilus Swimming Club. These swimmers bagged many medals and some of them will be participating in the CBSE Nationals which will be held in India soon.
The swimmers who aced their performances at Clusters are:
Brothers Jayin Sharma and Kavin Sharma bagged gold medals in all the events they participated:bJayin in 50m butterfly, 100m butterfly, 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle, and 200m Individual Medley (IM).
Kavin in 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 100m butterfly, and 200m freestyle.
Haripriya Satheesh bagged 5 gold medals in 100m and 200 m freestyle, 100m butterfly, 4x100m free relay, and 4x100m medley relay.
Jessica Joanna Paul won gold medals in 50m backstroke, 200m backstroke, 4x100m freestyle relay, and 4x100m IM relay; silver in 50m breaststroke and 100m backstroke.
Aditi Shankar won gold medals in 50m butterfly, 100m breaststroke, 200m Freestyle, and 200m IM.
Prakriti Latheesh Nair who won gold in 50m butterfly and silver in 100m butterfly, 200m freestyle, and 200m IM.
Dhruv Dhiman won gold in 100m breaststroke and silver in 50m freestyle, 200m freestyle, and 100m butterfly
Jia Singh won gold in 4x100m freestyle and 4x100m IM relay, 200 IM.
From Indian School Sohar, Clusters witnessed some upcoming Nautilus Sohar swimmers who starred in their individual events.
Shruthikaa won silver in 50m breaststroke, Vikram Senthilkumar won silver in 50m breaststroke, Varun Balakrishnan bagged a bronze in 50m freestyle.
Training is rigorous for all our competitive swimmers at Nautilus Swimming Club under the guidance of Head Coach Ivan Proskura, a merited Olympic and Paralympic Coach. The swimmers are well-trained to participate confidently and win competitions! To remind you, Nautilus remains the only club in Oman, whose swimmer, KS Pooja, reached the finals at Indian Nationals Swimming Championships coming sixth in her event.
