Muscat: The Children's Public Library celebrated its five years since opening in November 2017, and concluded the fourth cycle of Marifah programme in partnership with bp Oman. The ceremony was held under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, and in the presence of a number of Their Highnesses, Excellencies, CEOs, trainers, children and parents.
During the celebration, Her Highness Mona Fahad Al Said, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Children's Public Library, expressed her appreciation for the library's efforts in spreading knowledge in various fields as the number of visitors to the library since its inauguration reached more than 126,000 visitors.
Ibrahim Al Hinai, bp Oman’s Social Investment Specialist, commented: ‘’We are proud of our partnership with the Children's Public Library in Marifah programme, which aims to develop the knowledge and skills of children through a series of workshops, courses and events for children, parents and those interested in children’s literature, which is a core part of education and seeking knowledge in line of Oman’s 2040 vision of advancing education.”
Buthaina Ahmed Makki, Activities Manager at Children's Public Library, added: “During the fourth edition of the programme, the library implemented 50 workshops in various fields, benefiting more than 1,500 children from different governorates from March to November 2022.”
Throughout the four seasons of Marifah prgoramme, the total number of beneficiaries reached more than 5,500 since the launch of the programme in 2019 until 2022.
