Muscat: The Royal Navy of Oman Vessel "Shabab Oman II" has docked at Salalah Port in Dhofar Governorate after completing its sixth international voyage (Oman, the Land of Peace).
A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA) said: "The Royal Navy of Oman ship (Shabab Oman II) arrived at the port of Salalah in the Dhofar Governorate, on the course of its return line on its sixth international voyage (Oman, the Land of Peace)."
Shabab Oman II stopped during its sixth international voyage in 25 ports, during which it visited 18 countries. It participated in many maritime festivals and international competitions, achieving honourable international achievements, most notably the award for the best ship that received visitors according to the public's vote, and the award for the ship that travelled the longest distance to participate in the Festival for the launch of long-distance sailing races for the year 2022 in the Danish city of Esbjerg.
The vessel also won the award for the best ship in the port during the conclusion of the first stage of the long-distance sailing races for the year 2022 in the port of Harlingen in the Kingdom of Netherlands and won first place at the general level in the sports competitions held within the Maritime Festival in the Antwerp city in Belgium.
Shabab Oman II was also crowned with the International Friendship Award for long-distance sailing races for the year 2022, which is one of the highest awards granted in the field of sailing for the best ship that carries the message of love, friendship and peace.
The vessel will dock in the port of Salalah until the 18th of October after it travelled 15,275 nautical miles. An official reception will be held on the occasion of its return from its sixth international voyage (Oman, the Land of Peace) on Sunday, 23rd of October at Sultan Qaboos Port in the Governorate of Muscat.
