Muscat: The Fisheries Control Team in Muscat was able to seize 184 kg of shrimp fished illegally during the ban period. In another incident, the team in Al Dhahirah Governorate managed to seize expired insecticides in one of the shops selling agricultural materials.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries Wealth and Water Resources said in a statement: “The Fisheries Control Team in Muscat Governorate was able to seize 184 kg of shrimp fished during the ban period, and the legal procedures are being completed against the violators of the ban. Note that shrimp fishing and trading are permitted from the beginning of September to the end of November each year.”
The Ministry added: “The team of the Control Department at the General Directorate of Agricultural Wealth and Water Resources in Al Dhahirah Governorate managed to seize expired insecticides in one of the shops selling agricultural materials in the Wilayat of Yanqul. The necessary legal procedures are being completed.”
