Place of worship in Oman: Jama’ a Al Khoudh

Ramadan presents a great opportunity to go pray in beautiful houses of worship that you might not otherwise see. Whether for Taraweeh prayers or Dhuhr, this month, take time to pay a visit to one of Muscat’s architectural monuments of faith.

{ Jama’ a Al Khoudh }

Jama’a Al Khoudh Mosque was built in the eighties in Al Khoudh on Al Tijari Street, at the very end of the souq. Its exterior is mesmeric and open, adorned with beautiful palm trees and interlocking pavers. Carpeted in pastel green, the interior reflects the exterior’s tranquil ambiance. The design is traditional and simple, featuring a creamy colour; a gigantic, tinted window; and a gilded dome. It has become a praying hub for Sultan Qaboos University students, especially during Friday prayers.
