Muscat: Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, said the lifting of sanctions on Iran was aimed at ensuring stability and security in the region. He said the decision taken by the major countries and the UN to lift curbs imposed on Iran had enhanced security.

He said that it is enough to mention that the ghosts of wars have disappeared and hopefully they would disappear forever. He said the lifting of the ban would have positive impact on the region.
As for the international and regional differences with Iran, he expected that such differences will vanish eventually. He called upon all international and regional parties to join hands to overcome challenges and ensure public interest. He affirmed that opening the building of the GCC Consultative Authority in Muscat shows that the GCC has bases and pillars in all GCC capitals to help in achieving its future goals.
