Muscat: The Royal Air Force of Oman has conducted a medical evacuation of a crew member of a merchant ship transiting southeast of Salalah port.
A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA), said: "The Search and Rescue Center of the Royal Air Force of Oman carried out a medical evacuation operation at sea by one of their helicopters for a crew member of a merchant ship transiting southeast of the port of Salalah in Dhofar Governorate. The ship belonged to the Republic of Panama."
The helicopter transported the patient, who was suffering from a critical condition to Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah, to receive the necessary specialized treatment.
This comes within the framework of the national services and humanitarian efforts provided by the Sultan's Armed Forces and other departments of the Ministry of Defense to citizens, residents, and people transiting through the homeland, along with other government institutions.
