Riyadh: Prince Alwaleed bin Khaled bin Talal Al Saud, widely known as Saudi Arabia’s ‘Sleeping Prince’, has passed away at 36 after nearly two decades in a coma caused by a 2005 car accident in London.
His father, Prince Khaled bin Talal, confirmed the news on X, expressing sorrow and faith in Allah’s will. The family had kept him on life support, hoping for a recovery despite his critical condition.
Alwaleed received care at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh. Funeral prayers will be held on July 20, with condolences accepted until July 22.
